Hickory golfers in Maine are planning an inaugural Hickory Golf Tournament at the Bath Golf Club in Bath, Maine.

Designed in 1932 by famed architect Wayne Stiles, The Bath Golf Club is a classic New England course located in the rolling farmland of North Bath. The town is known for its world class shipbuilding port, but The Bath Golf Club has been a staple in the Bath community for many years. It provides fair, yet challenging holes that are a hickory players dream, and all the makings for a perfect round of golf!

The inaugural Maine Hickory Golf Tournament will consist of an 18-hole, two-person scramble, with both gross and net divisions. A pre-tournament rules ceremony is scheduled at 9:15 a.m., followed by a 10 a.m. shotgun start. Entry fee for the event is set at $25 per player, with an optional $10 per player cart fee.

Participating players may play for discounted fees both the day prior and following the event. That fee is $20 to walk 18 holes, an additional $10 for cart.

Five dollar lunch specials are available at the turn and an optional Closest-to-the-Pin competition will be available on all four par 3 holes. An awards ceremony in the clubhouse is scheduled following play.

“We hope to attract both new and experienced hickory players alike and help showcase a historic part of golf’s past,” says Ryan Talbot, general manager of Bath GC.
