The 2018 Championship Series began with the Mid Pines Hickory Open in November 2017 and will end with the 2018 U.S. Hickory Open. Each year, the overall Championship Series winner and other Championship Series medalists will be announced at the Mid Pines Hickory Open. Mid Pines Hickory Open
Season Opener for 2018-19 CS
The first event in the scheduling of the Championship Series, the Mid Pines Hickory Open in Southern Pines, N.C. provides a great setting on one of Donald Ross’ classic gems. Often hosting as many as 100 players, including international visitors, the tournament features a foursomes competition at neighboring Pine Needles on the Friday of the event. Practice rounds are available all day Friday at Mid Pines. Trade show on Saturday at Mid Pines. The golfing center of Pinehurst is nearby as is the Tufts Archives, a repository of Donald Ross history. The 2018 Mid Pines Hickory Open will begin the 2018-19 Championship Series season that will end with the 2019 USHO.
The 2018 Mid Pines Hickory Open is the first major points event in the 2018-19 Championship Series.

The Southern Hickory 4-Ball Championship
April 19-21, 2018
One of the earliest hickory golf events, the Southern Hickory Four Ball Championship is a must-play event on the hickory golf calendar. Hosted by Tad Moore on the Highland Park Golf Course in Birmingham, Ala., the event is especially enjoyed for its southern hospitality. This is the second of the major CS events on the calendar for 2017-18.

The Belvedere Hickory Open
June 14-16, 2018
The Belvedere Golf Club will host the 13th annual Belvedere Hickory Open June 14-16. The Belvedere Club membership enjoys hosting the event and welcomes all participants and guests to Belvedere Golf Club and the lovely town of Charlevoix, Mich. The schedule includes a Thursday practice round (golfing spouse welcome, too), daily range balls, tournament favors, lunch at the turn on both Friday and Saturday afternoons, and complimentary cocktails after each tournament round. Everyone enjoys a “Welcome to Charlevoix Party” on Thursday evening and a heavy hors d’oeuvres party with entertainment at the Belvedere Clubhouse on Friday evening. On Saturday evening the Belvedere Club hosts a coat and tie dinner at the Belvedere “Casino.” The presentation of awards takes place at the Saturday evening dinner.
This will be the third event in the 2017-18 Championship Series.

The U.S. Hickory Open
Sept. 16-18, 2018
Sedgefield Country Club, Greensboro, N.C.
The USHO will travel to North Carolina in 2018, to Sedgefield Country Club, a 1926 Donald Ross design and home to the PGA’s Wyndham Championship (formerly the Greater Greensboro Open). More information will be posted as event organizers nail down the details. The 2018 USHO is the fourth and final of the major CS events in the 2017-18 Championship Series.
