The Wisconsin Hickory Group is organizing a Two-Person Best Ball / Net money match for spring 2020. We are offering it on a first-come basis. Only 14 teams (28 players) will be in this first match. You will need to put down a $300 deposit per team to hold your spot.

Again, we will only have 28 players (14 Teams). Contact us NOW to hold your spot. Contact info below.

Dates will be Thursday-Friday, May 21-23. Cost: $775 per player (Per Team $1,550)

The first two days will be 27 holes at Lawsonia (home of the Wisconsin Hickory Open and the 2016 U.S. Hickory Open) on Thursday and Friday.  The Links of Lawsonia are in Green Lake, Wisc. The third day we will convene at Sand Valley in Nekoosa, Wisc. (think Bandon Dunes of Wisconsin) to play 36 holes. Nekoosa is about one hour and 15 minutes northwest of Green Lake.

Format is nine-hole Best Ball (net). Each team will be in one of two seven-team divisions decided by random dra) and will play nine holes against each team in their division. Points will be awarded as follows: 1 point for each hole won (1/2 point for ties) and one point for winning the nine hole match.  The winner of the match point is whoever has the most points after 9 holes. Your team’s cumulative total will be added up for each match played to determine seeding for Sand Valley.

At the end of two days reach team will have played nine holes against every other team in that division.  The first and second place teams, based on points won from each division, will playoff on Saturday for 18 holes to determine who plays the last 18 holes for the championship.  First place Division A vs. Second place Division B; and First place Division B vs Second place Division A.  The winners of these 18 hole matches will play for the Championship on the second 18 holes at Sand Valley. The loser of those matches will playoff for third and fourth places.

The remaining 10 teams will play all 36 holes at Sand Valley for Low Net and Low Gross money.  We will also have an optional Skins game ($20 per team) for Saturday at Sand Valley. We will gather on Saturday to award prize money and review score cards.  This is a money tournament only.

Please remember Sand Valley is a walking-only course. Caddies are available, but the caddie fee is not included in this entry fee. So you will be walking 36 holes. On Thursday and Friday, carts are available at Lawsonia. One 18-hole cart fee is included in your entry fee. If you take a cart on the second nine holes it will cost you $20.

So, here’s what’s included in your entry fee:

  • Thursday and Friday rounds (27 holes) and one 18-hole cart fee at Lawsonia. (It’s unlimited golf so if you want to go 36 you can or play all day if you want.
  • Golf at Sand Valley (36 holes on Saturday).
  • Two nights stay at Lawsonia (Wednesday night and Thursday night).
  • One night at Sand Valley. (We will drive to Sand Valley after golf on Friday night. It’s about an hour and 15 minutes to Sand Valley from Lawsonia and our first tee time is 7:15 a.m. on Saturday.  The lowest point total teams will go off first followed by the rest of the group.)

All rooms accommodations are double occupancy. If you need an extra room or a single, the cost will be yours to incur. If you do not need a room, you must let me know when entering for the event.

We will payout the top four places and there will be money for Low Gross and Low Net on Saturday only (for the 10 teams not in the playoff).  Skins game on Saturday ($20 per guy) is optional. Any other bets made will be on your own accord.

If interested we have the option of setting up more golf at Sand Valley on Sunday or Pines course at Lake Arrowhead (5 minutes up the road). Please let me know if you want to stay and play more golf in Wisconsin. Golf at Kohler and Erin Hills are options, for example.
