2018 Golf Heritage Society Pre-National Tournament Warm-up

Oct. 10, 2018
St. Johns Golf Club
Elkton, Fla.

This warm-up hickory golf outing on the St. Johns GC in Elkton, Fla., is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 10, the day before the Golf Heritage Society annual meeting begins. It is hosted by the Hickory Golf Association.

The Golf Collectors Society, for those who did not know, will become the Golf Heritage Society on Sept. 1, or thereabouts. Bill Reed, who organized this special hickory round, is founder of the Hickory Golf Association, a board member of both the SoHG and the GHS, and past-president of the Golf Collectors Society. The GHS annual meeting and trade show is scheduled for Oct. 11-13 and is centered around the World Golf Hall of Fame in St. Augustine, Fla.

Organizers have arranged for 60 spots, however only the first 40 to sign up will be guaranteed a tee time. Registration is set for 11:30 a.m. at St. Johns, with the first group off at 12:28 p.m. Entry fee of $42 includes cart fee, range balls, prizes and other extras. A cash bar and restaurant are available at St. Johns.

Bill encourages participants to use caution when traveling to the course as there are similarly named courses and country clubs in the area. Plug the address into your GPS, he says.

St. Johns Golf Club, 4900 Cypress Links Blvd., Elkton, FL  32022.     Phone number is 904-209-0350.
