Established in 1904, the Stockholm Golf Club was designed by John S. F. Morrison (of Colt, Alison & Morrison) with contributions from the Club’s Rafael Sundstrom. It is a parkland course near Stockholm’s city center.
This two-player team event has mixed teams of pros and amateurs, as well as all-amateur teams. It is played to full handicap for amateurs, max of 24, and off scratch for the professionals. The $499 (U.S.) entry fee includes green fees for an optional practice day on June 27, the competitive round, whisky tasting, barbeque, prizes to the best teams, and a purse for the best professional scores.
The best net score per hold for the team will be counted. The team with lowest net score over 18 holes wins both entry to the World Hickory Open (Oct. 15-17) for three days, and three nights accommodations.
Yellow tee for men, red tee for ladies and gentlemen over 75 years. Rules of Golf apply with the exception that no measuring devices are allowed.
The tournament will be conducted under Society of Hickory Golfers equipment recommendations.
Quality prizes will be awarded from Johnnie Walker, Skultuna, Liveit, Spiltan Fonder, and Segmenta och Golflinks.
Purse for professionals is 10.000 SEK ($1,250 U.S.) with 20 teams. First through third place purses are 5000, 3000, and 2000 SEK, ($600, $400, and $250 U.S.) Best individual gross score counts. With more or fewer teams, the purse may be adjusted.
Best individual gross score, professional or amateur, also qualifies for Tor Törnstens Pokal on Sept. 30.
