Wisconsin newspapers finds USHO a colorful story

A century ago it would have been common for men in knickers and plaid vests to talk about their mashies, jiggers, and niblicks while setting off on an early morning round of golf.

While those days, and much of the equipment from that era, are long gone, a growing group of enthusiasts led by the Society of Hickory Golfers have been carrying on the traditions set forth by the sport’s forefathers.
