In addition, The Honorable Company has a growing reputation for hosting fun, relaxed events where participants can learn and enjoy some hickory fellowship. From the toast at the first tee to handshakes after dinner and awards, anyone from experienced players to beginners will learn and laugh (a lot). Our goal is to share the joy of the authentic game, bringing together everyone from experienced mentors to those who are just starting their journey. (Clubs are available for loan at no cost if you don’t have a set).
At our fall event, The Last Bash, in October 2015, participants enjoyed playing against Francis – our squirrel mascot – in a bogey competition (only two players bested him). The bogey game will likely be featured again at the spring event, together with other surprises. (Hint: Hosts Denny Lane and Jeff Browning are touring and playing local back-country courses that lend themselves to the hickory game and which might be playable on April 29 and May 1.)
Metamora Fields is a links-style course where the ball can be played along the ground. Although it is a fairly new establishment, it has the look and feel of an old course.
