Results of 2018 Southern 4-Ball Championship

April 20-21 – Tad Moore’s Southern 4-Ball entertained 56 players who sampled all the ingredients that have made this event a classic over the years – great golf, great friends, and great fun.

Tad reports that Thursday’s practice round found sunshine but cool temps and winds of 15-25 mph. “The Welcome Party that night was well attended and everyone seemed to have a good time,” he said. “Some clubs and other items were sold as it also was trade show night.”

Friday arrived warmer but still windy. Following a lunch, the 1 p.m. shotgun went off without a hitch. “Scoring was good but not as many low scores this year,” Tad said.

Saturday’s shotgun began at 8:30 a.m. and 55 degree temperatures that quickly warmed up. Scoring again was tough. The 2018 winning team were new to the event – Taylor Jones and Andrew von Lossow.  “They are two young guys who love hickory golf,” Tad said.

“I want to thank the players and I hope they had a good time and will enjoy the tee gifts. This year also we had two ladies play. I played with Barb Kopec and Rich Grula played with Marci Likens. I hope next year we can attract more ladies to the tournament.”
