Results of 2018 Indiana Hickory Open

Oct. 14, 2018
Cold and rainy weather forced a shortened tournament of the Indiana Hickory Open, scheduled for Oct. 12-13 at the Eagle Valley golf course in Evansville.

Friday’s practice round consisted of a shamble using the modified Stableford system of scoring. Joe and Carol Fallen hosted a dinner Friday evening with great food and lots of good fellowship.

Saturday was the first round for individual play with coffee, hot cocoa, and a “wee nip” helping to warm the players a bit. After a grinding day at the course, a great meal was enjoyed at The Log Inn in Warrenton.  Sunday morning brought colder temperatures and a rainy forecast, so it was decided to cancel Sunday’s play and use only Saturday’s scores to decide the winners.

A special note of thanks to tournament sponsor Louisville Golf and its owner Jeremy Wright.

The tournament committee was pleased that several new faces were able to join us this year, and we hope that they and many others will join us next year. Even though the weather did not cooperate this year, everyone agreed that it was an enjoyable weekend. Plans for next year’s tournament are already being made, so be sure to mark your calendar for  Oct. 4-6, 2019.

We will look forward to seeing you.
