Lovely day for hickory golf in Philadelphia

June 11 – Philadelphia, Pa.

More than perfect weather greeted hickory golfers at the 2017 Philadelphia Hickory Open. They found good friends and a 1920s gem of a William Flynn course, perfect for the good old clubs.

Ben Ellis, of Waldorf, Md., made it worthwhile. He shot the low medal round of 76 for the day’s champion’s honors. Following him was Dave Reh, of Upper Darby, Pa., who turned in a net round of 67.

Host Ari Flaisher later told his player/guests: “Thank you all so very much for coming to my humble golf home for a fun and oh so hot and humid round of hickory golf. It truly is a privilege to be able to host you for some hickory golf. I hope you had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed yourselves, your playing partners, and the course.”

A threesome advances on the goal at the McCall Golf Course for the 2017 Philadelphia Hickory Open.
