Match play off to great start as Kansas golfers grow the hickory game

April 21, 2021

Mike Needleman reports:

The Kansas City Area Hickory Golfers are pleased to announce the success of its inaugural event held April 17, 2021, as 30 golfers gathered to contest their skills in the two-person team, match-play event. Play was held at the Jay Morrish-designed Falcon Lakes Golf Course in Basehor, Kan. Everyone enjoyed hickory friendly fairways, speedy greens and that famous Kansas City BBQ at the end of play. Players came from five sites including Texas, Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa, and Kansas helping to define this group’s regional base. In addition to three mixed-couple teams, and some known hickory players from throughout the region, there were a dozen players from nearby towns who will add strength as this group continues to grow its local base.
