LPGAs Catriona Matthew has a date with hickories

In a sign that more professional golfers are beginning to discover or, at least, acknowledge, the growing hickory golf movement, the 2009 Ladies British Open champion Catriona Matthew has scheduled a three-hole exhibition match with the 2012 World Hickory Open champion Rick Valentine.

Matthew, pictured below with her 2009 Ladies Open trophy, is an accomplished player who began her LPGA career in 1995. She has four wins in the U.S. and five on the Ladies European Tour. She was runner up to Inbee Park in the 2013 LPGA championship.

Valentine, shown below at the 2012 WHO, is a Master of Golf at the famous Loretto School Golf Academy in Scotland, and is the grandson of renowned Scottish ladies golfer Jessie Valentine.
