After finding room for 48 waitlisted participants for the 2019 U.S. Hickory Open, organizer Marty Joy says only one name remains on the list and, even better, there is a very good chance that if you have the time and ability to get to Charlevoix, Mich. between June 20-22, you, too, may have a very good chance to get into the tournament.
Joy, the host PGA professional at the Belvedere Golf Club, offers the following advice for last-minute hopefuls:
First, if you are interested, please immediately acquire accommodations for your stay in Charlevoix. Summers in northern Michigan are very busy – and hotel rooms are as scarce as eagles during a tournament round. You can always cancel hotel room reservations if you do not get in. Second, contact Joy at golfbelvedere@gmail.com to indicate your interest in being put on the waitlist. He will get back to you ASAP once a spot opens for this year’s championship.
Once you are invited to the USHO, you will be directed to the proper channel to acquire practice round tee times, learn about spouse tours, party invites etc. An informational brochure about the Championship, Belvedere Golf Club and Charlevoix, Mich. has been posted to the SoHG website on the USHO home page for all players and guests.
