This tournament honors Mike Fatke, Manistee Golf and Country Club’s longtime course superintendent who took impeccable care of the course he loved and could often be found, late in the day, playing the back nine with his hickories. It also benefits the Save A Buddy Fund, set up my Mike and his wife, Molly, to honor their rescue dog, Buddy, by providing financial assistance to individuals to spay or neuter their dogs or puppies.

The format is low gross and net stroke play with Open and Statesman (70+), flights, plus a flight for Ladies. The Open low gross winner will be crowned Champion. Handicaps will be adjusted for those without a hickory handicap. Cost for the tournament is $210 per player (+$30 a guest for social events). Included will be a tee gift, practice round Friday (with a possible competition), a social event Friday evening and an awards luncheon following Saturday’s play.
