BraeBen was picture perfect!

BraeBen Results Thursday June 14
Our GHSC Spring Scramble was held this year at BraeBen the Scottish Highlands  style layout in  Mississauga. Built on a old landfill site that was intentionally shaped to let Golf Architect Ted Baker create a masterpiece, it is missing only the great views of ocean. Instead we get the roof tops of Bramalea and even better views of greater Toronto right down to the lake and the high rises that so disfigure the Gardiner Expressway entrance into the city.
On a perfect golf day 22 degrees and sunshine, 44 players enjoyed one great hole after another and a close scoring battle between the top nine teams. Best score of 65 was made by the team of Wayne Linton, Bill Stewart, Paul Winslow, and Barry Relf. At 66 was Jeff Pineo, Doug Marshall, Ron Dunn and Ken Leedham. Another shot back at 67 was Wayne Baigent, Joe Mclean, Dave Borsellino, and Bill Macdonald. In fourth place at 68 was Ian Clarke with Don Lockett, and Noi and Norm Moreau. They survived a score card playoff with two other teams tied at 68. There were three more teams at 69, 71, and 72. All in all nine teams were within seven shots of the winners .
Two mixed foursomes completed the field with matching scores of 77. All in all a nice friendly group.
