Auld Lang Syne for hickories in Florida

Great time at Mount Dora for the Florida Hickory Golfers “Auld Lang Syne” weekend, Dec. 20. The Lakeside Inn folks were fantastic hosts and the golf course, although showing her age a bit, was fun and interesting. Will Peterson of Orlando, took the gross honors with a fine 76 holing a long putt on the last green while Bryan Bruce of Sarasota was the net winner with a 64. We plan to make this an annual event on the Florida Hickory Golfers schedule.

Mt. Dora, located just north of Orlando, was built in 1945 by WWII vets returning home from that great conflict. They created nine holes. Nine more were added in 1959.
