Playing in strong prevailing winds gusting to 35 miles per hour, the Kansas City Area Hickory Golfers hosted its 2nd annual Sunflower Hickory Match-Play April 23, 2022 at the Falcon Lakes Golf Course in Basehor, Kan. Winners were recognized and awarded their gold medals at the dinner which featured excellent Kansas City style BBQ. Awards this year also recognized the low gross team of Kirk Watson and Dave Hanson, who carded a 73. The team of Chris Conklin, Alex Denton and Bill Reed, a threesome, recorded a net 57. “Whenever the smiles on the faces in the picture are the same smiles on folks after play…well, you know it was a great day,” said tournament director Mike Needleman.
It was a great day.
