This May the Wisconsin Hickory Players invite you to join them at Soangetaha Country Club to reunite with friends and enjoy the game we love. If you’ve not joined us before for this event, this is a beautiful 125-year-old parkland style course. Revised and expanded by Tom Bendelow in the 1920s, it is a great layout for hickory golf. The gently rolling topography of this beautiful course has interesting challenges throughout.
We will be playing pre-1935, modern hickory in a stroke play format on Saturday and Sunday. A practice round is optional on Friday the 20th. We will host a welcome event Friday evening with trade tables and heavy appetizers. Dinner will be included after the Saturday round and a Bar BQ lunch will follow the Sunday morning round, also included. Spouses are welcome at all events for an additional “Guest Fee” for food that is listed on the registration form (below).
In addition, we plan to host a 4-person Super Ball (best-shot scramble) event on Sunday. This event is intended to encourage more local players to get involved in hickory play. Last year, our first year for this scramble, we fielded five foursomes, mostly new players with eight ladies. Regular hickory players are welcome to enter this one-day event as well. (We will schedule tee times on Saturday for those players who come for the weekend.)
