The Sunshine State is the only one of the 50 whose state golf association has created and hosted a bona fide state hickory golf championship. It has done so with equipment and tournament guideline assistance from the Florida Hickory Golfers, led by Mike Stevens, and the SoHG.
The Florida State Golf Association has recently posted this year’s event to its tournament schedule pages. Click here to access the Florida Hickory Open page for information, including entry deadlines and fees, eligibility requirements and registration.
Both professionals and amateurs may enter the tournament which is 36 holes of individual stroke play. The championship field will be limited to 96 players in both Open and Net divisions. The net division will play net Stableford.
