The French Hickory Golf Championship is being organized by Joel Travers and French Golf Hickory Association. The venue is the beautiful Les Chênes course of the Club du Lys Chantilly in Lamorlaye, France, a 1929 Tom Simpson design.
Between 48 and 64 players are expected and includes both amateurs and professionals, possibly including European Tour players. Joel says players from the USA are most welcome.
The tournament fee is 280€ (about $339 U.S.) and includes green fees, buffets, dinner in the golf club and one gala diner in a beautiful castle beside the course.
Friday, July 23 is set aside for practice.
Saturday will be 18 holes of both Open and Net competition.
A challenge match is scheduled Sunday between hickory players and the Club’s best players.
So, two rounds on the course are included in the entry fee.
