The Gearhart Hickory Classic, presented by the Northwest Hickory Players, is played over a beautiful 1890s course on the coast of Oregon. The practice round is played in a scramble style with local members, all playing hickory. Saturday and Sunday medal rounds to determine the championship.
There will be four divisions for competition – Open Championship, Senior (60 and over), Women’s and a Super-Senior (over 70). There will be gross and net awards in all divisions. All divisions will play 18 holes medal play each day to determine a winner.
Prizes will be awarded in each division. There will be an informal trade show Saturday before the round, a dinner will follow the Saturday round, and an award ceremony will follow play on Sunday. Play is scheduled for noon on Friday, 1 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. on Sunday. All days will be shotgun starts to facilitate social activities.
