The 14th McNabb Cup
The 14th playing of The McNabb Cup is scheduled for Sept. 13, 2025.
The field for the 2025 McNabb Cup is officially closed. However, very late comers are advised to contact the Secretary (jdavis2364@gmail.com) in the advent of cancellations.
An optional round is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 12, on the always interesting Old Channel Trail golf course in Montague, Mich. (Original nine by Robert Bruce Harris in 1926, second two nines – W. Bruce Matthews, 1966; and Jerry Matthews, 1994.)
The Cup itself is contested over the Tom Bendelow-designed White Lake Golf Club (1916) that winds through lovely wooded fairways. A legendary Saturday evening soirée follows golf to celebrate the day, the winners and to sing the praises of golf.
The great Cup itself is enough to validate any golfer’s resume. It is played in honor of the one who originally won it in 1922, Isabel McNabb. The Cup is a test of honor, of skill, of patience, and the ability to appreciate and celebrate golf’s great tradition of friendly competition. The 2024 Captain of the Cup, Mr. Michael Pishlo, welcomes all who would challenge for this great trophy.

Admittance into the field is by invitation, however, earnest contestants are always encouraged to apply to The Cup’s secretary, Mr. JH Davis. To date, the event’s August and Ancient Committee has turned no one away. The Committee welcomes all golfers, men and women, to apply.
The fee is a mere $95 for the day of The Cup (golf, cart, food and drink) and the evening’s celebration. Other costs (golf and dinner on Friday) are extra. There are several very reasonably priced local hotels and B&Bs for the traveling pilgrim who wishes to experience both days of play.
