Putting Ryder Cup
SoCal Hickory is holding its first ever Putting Ryder Cup at 9 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 26, at Palmia’s 18-hole bent grass putting green in Mission Viejo, Calif. Palmia is a 55+ community in Mission Veijo. The course rolls nicely, says organizer Chuck Felder, a little slow, maybe, but that offsets some of the slopes you will encounter. Photos of the course are on the second page of the event registration form.
We will form two teams, Ouimet & Vardon, and play:
- First 18-hole match will be Fourball
- Second 18-hole match will be Foursomes
- Third 18-hole match will be singles
- Each round will take about an hour or less, we should be done before 1 p.m. after food, drinks & scoring.
We will have a nice, covered pavilion to rest between rounds and where we can share some sandwiches and perhaps a dram or two of scotch.
