The 2025 Ames Silversmithing Hickory Classic on Sunday, Sept. 14, enjoyed clear blue skies and warm fall temperatures. Host Gary Youngberg was pleased with the strong field of 67 players at the Ames Golf and Country Club for the 14th playing of this annual Midwestern tournament.
“Scores were as hot as the day,” Youngberg said, “as Kevin Eslick and Ayden Gordon tied for low score with 1 under par 70s. The tie was settled in a card back, which Gordon won. Yours truly was the defending champion and managed to finish one stroke out of the playoff with an even par 71.”
Youngberg was also pleased to announce that this year’s event raised $1,380 for the Blank Children’s Hospital in Des Moines.
