2026 Bon-Air Spring Matches
April 18

The Bon-Air Golfers, established 1896, and reconstituted 1996, as Augusta’s hickory golfing society, will contest their 2026 Spring Matches on Saturday, April 18, AFTER the Masters.
Now serving as a National Hickory Championship qualifier*, Augusta’s Champion Hickory Golfer of the Year will receive free entry into the National Hickory Championship.
The event is formatted as follows:
Fitzjohn, 19th century
Ogilvie, 20th century.
On the links of the Washington-Wilkes C.C. (Donald Ross, 1928).
Greens Fee: $30
Prize Fund: $20
Lunch: $20 (A southern cooking buffet feast from the clubhouse’s kitchen.)
We will tee off about 9 a.m.
Fitz-john Division (gutta-percha era), 18 holes
Clubs: Original 19th century (no later than 1905) smooth-faced irons and spliced-neck woods.
Balls: Original 19th century gutta-percha or the McIntyre “Park.”
Ogilvie Division (Bobby Jones era), 18 holes:
Clubs: Pre-World War II hickory-shafted irons and woods.
Balls: Any soft-cover USGA or R&A approved ball you like, 20th century wound balata balls are encouraged.
Sporting Division (all other hickory) 9 and/or 18 holes depending on interest:
Clubs: Reproduction hickory clubs.
