Inaugural Bobby Jones Hickory Challenge
Host Larry Rice is excited to announce a new hickory event called The Bobby Jones Hickory Challenge. It’s to be played on the Bobby Jones Golf Course in Atlanta, Ga.
The course is a 9-hole reversible golf course, originally built in 1932, and redesigned by the late Bob Cupp in 2016, the last course he designed shortly before his passing. It was completed by his son, Bobby, and officially opened in November 2018.
This will be a 36-hole tournament, playing the Magnolia route twice on Thursday, followed by the Azalea route twice on Friday. Dinner will be provided on site on the Terrace at Boone’s Restaurant on Thursday following completion of play. Box lunches will be provided on Friday.
Tee times will start at noon on Thursday and at 8:30 a.m. on Friday morning. Scoring and awards will follow completion of play.
Practice rounds are not included, but these may be arranged by calling the pro shop at 404-355-1009, or scheduling it online.
