2025 Vermont Hickory Open

August 9 - August 10

The Vermont Hickory Golf Association is pleased to announce that this year’s Vermont Hickory Open will be a two-day metal (stroke) play event featuring four divisions: the Open division (any age or gender), the Senior division, (60 years of age or older), the Statesmen division (70 years of age or older), and a Women’s division. Both low gross and low net in each division will be acknowledged. A division must have a minimum of four competitors for the low gross winner’s name to be engraved on the Vermont VHO trophy.

VENUE: The 2025 VHO will return to the Brattleboro Country Club, in Brattleboro, Vt., which was the venue for the 2022, 2023 & 2024 VHO. The course is a mix of the original golf course design in 1914 by Tom McNamara, a three-time U.S. Open runner up, a redesign in 1930 by Wayne Stiles, and an expansion, with some re-routing of play, in 2000 by Steve Durkee.

Green fees and a cart are included in the registration. Practice rounds are not included in the registration fee. Please call the pro shop at BCC to schedule your practice round, 802-257-7380.

SCHEDULE OF PLAY: Play will be by tee times; the first tee time is expected to be at 10 am each day. There is a restaurant with both inside and outside seating where we may gather for refreshments after play each day. Food is not included but is available al la carte. We expect to have table space available after play each day for club swap, trade, buy or sell.

RULES OF PLAY: The Society of Hickory Golf rules will apply. Check this website and look for guidelines under the tournament tab. Play must be with a hickory shafted clubs manufactured before Dec. 31, 1934, or with SoHG-approved reproductions. There is no limit to the number of clubs allowed in your bag. Cell phone GPS and/or other distance measuring devices are not permitted during tournament play. Local rules will be made available before start of play.
