The Lomison family of Pffaftown, N.C. is starting up a hickory event designed for younger hickory players. Following is their invitation, plus a registration form.

My parents and I have decided to start a Junior Hickory event for boys and girls ages 9-15. We have recently confirmed a location and date. We plan to have it at Wolf Creek golf course in Reidsville, N.C. Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017. This will be an annual fall event for juniors. It is an 18-hole one day event, played in groups of three juniors and one adult, walking. They will play hickory clubs with a soft modern ball. We are providing a hotdog/ hamburger meal for each player. The awards will be a glass vase for the winners, and medals for the top three players in each group. The future hope is to have it grow and even become a national event for junior golfers. This will be a big step for our family. But we feel with the support and encouragement from the hickory family it can be accomplished.
