Golf in America dated to 1739

   Well, what do you know? Golf in America may have got going much earlier than anyone thought.

   A Dec. 1 article in the Charleston Post and Courier by Tommy Braswell (link below) reports on the results of research by Dr. David Purdie, of the National Archives in Scotland.

   Purdie found a document dated June 29, 1739, that mentions golf clubs shipped to Charleston from Scotland to William Wallace.
