Florida’s professional Tartan Tour completes first event

Florida Tartan Tour Kicks Off First Event

In spite of heavy rain beforehand, the Professional Hickory Golfers Association Tartan Tour’s first event at historic Temple Terrace Golf and Country Club was completed on what turned out to be a nice afternoon. Tour co-director Mike Stevens boosted by steady play and a more than competent short game managed to win the first leg of tour’s opening event with a score of 77. The course played a bit longer than usual as the wet fairways limited any roll but otherwise the condition was excellent with the greens presenting their usual subtle difficulty.

Results:

Mike Stevens  77 ($250)
Tim Heath  81 ($100)
Tom McCrary  84 ($50)
Mike Tracy  86
Terry Decker  91
Scott Bowles  98
