California North/South building momentum

The 3rd edition of the North-South was held this June at the Pacific Grove Golf Links. Thirty-seven players teed it up on this beautiful seaside links. This year’s weather was cooler, under cloudy skies.  The lower 60s weather did not dampen any spirits, and the golf course was in great shape.
The event kicked off Friday night with a wonderful cocktail party at the Kris Surano home in Pacific Grove.  The 1898 Victorian home almost seemed built for this gathering.
Saturday saw round one start at 8 a.m., with lunch, drinks, and awards for the first day after the round. Roberta Robbins hit the shot of the day on the closest-to-the-pin 10th hole. Her shot by that lighthouse hole finished just 3 feet 6 inches from the cup!
The North team again won the team matches (with a very close match all the way through), and many could not wait for the trunk trade show to start. Saturday night saw most make it out to Lovers Point Park along the ocean for a friendly hot dog bbq.  Good drinks and scenic views were aplenty. Sunday morning and round two came early with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. A lot of good rounds were played, with many people taking home trophies.  Jim Von Lossow stole the show, firing 74-76 for a 150 total! Way to go Von!
Thanks again to Kris and Sylvia for opening up their house for the party, and for all the help.  Hope to see you all at next year’s event.
