With optimism for the coming year we invite you to join us at the Mid American Hickory Open. We plan to return to Soangetaha this spring to reunite with friends and enjoy the game on this a beautiful 125-year-old track. A parkland style layout surrounding Rice Lake, it was revised and expanded by Tom Bendelow in the 1920s and is a great layout for hickory golf. The gently rolling topography of this beautiful course has interesting challenges throughout.
We will play pre-1935, modern hickory in a stroke play format on Saturday and Sunday. A practice round is optional for Friday. We will host a welcome event Friday evening with trade tables and heavy appetizers. Dinner will be included after the Saturday round and a Bar BQ lunch will follow the Sunday morning round.
Head Professional Kirk Hosteng is hosting a 4-person Super Ball (best shot format) event for Sunday. This event is intended to encourage members and locals to get involved, but experienced hickory players are welcome to enter as well.

Itinerary and information
Friday:
Practice rounds… call for tee times at 309-342-5410
5 p.m. – Welcome event with trade tables and appetizers.
Saturday:
First round play, tee times begin mid-morning
Dinner following round.
Sunday:
Second round play, tee times start at 8:15 a.m.
Soangetaha Hickory Scramble to follow.
Awards and lunch follow play… travel home.
