The North-South Hickory Championship

Pacific Grove Golf Links, Pacific Grove, Calif.

Welcome to the California Hickory North-South. This event is a two-day hickory golf tournament held on the 1932 Chandler Egan-designed Pacific Grove Golf Links. Pacific Grove Golf Links is known as the “poor man’s Pebble Beach” and for good reason. The course is on the northwestern tip of the Monterey Peninsula about 5 miles from Pebble Beach. Pacific Ocean and Monterey Bay views are visible from almost every hole on the course, with the back 9 situated right along the coast in links style. A par 70 from just over 5,700 yards, this course is great for hickory play, and very walkable. Expect some attention from sightseers and passersby along Ocean View Boulevard. Oh, and while most of the country is roasting in the summer heat, the average daytime high temperature is a nice 66 degrees!

Entry forms and payment must arrive by June 4.   Click here for information and registration form.

The form also contains lodging information. Participants must find their own place to stay. There are many small hotels and B&Bs within a couple of miles of the course.

2012 North-South champion Kris Surano and his wife, Sylvia, have again graciously invited the group to their Victorian Pacific Grove home for a tournament social on Saturday evening. Details in future email/contact.
