The sixth and final event in the 2012 SoHG Championship Series sponsored by Mountain Valley Spring Water, the Mid Pines Hickory Open provides a lovely setting to close the season. This is one of Donald Ross’ finest courses, perfect for hickory play. The Mid Pines Inn offers a wonderful place to stay on-site. Fee is $285 and includes Friday practice round, foursomes competition, two 18-hole rounds at Mid Pines, cocktail reception on Saturday, and award luncheon on Sunday. Gross and net divisions for younger and senior players as well as a ladies division. Neighboring course at Pine Needles hosts the foursomes competition on Friday of the event. SoHG rules and equipment standards. Trade show on Saturday at the Mid Pines Conference Center. The historic golfing center of Pinehurst is nearby as is the Tufts Archives, a repository of area and Donald Ross history.
