About The Society of Hickory Golfers Handicap system

This handicap system is not designed to replace the USGA Handicap system. It is designed to give users a separate and convienient place to post their 'hickory scores'. It uses identical algorithms to that of the USGA. Features include:

Selecting a course

If you have previously designated courses as home or regular courses these will appear in a dropdown menu box (You will not see this until you have made a designation). If you have designated a home course this will automatically appear as number 1, and will be the default course for which your score will be posted. If the course you played does not appear in the dropdown menu (or if you do not see a menu) You must fill in course details including a slope and the course index (rating). If you fail to do this default values will be assigned.

IMPORTANT: Make sure you check the box labeled 'Check this box to register the course details below.'

Designating a home course

Simply check the box labeled 'Check this box if you would like to make this course your 'home' course.' and the course for which you have filled in the details will be designated your home course, replacig if necessary your previous home course

Designating a regular course

Simply check the box labeled 'Check this box if you would like to add this course to your 'regular' list.' and in future the course will appear in the dropdown list

Viewing others handicaps

Simply go to 'look up a handicap' to view anyones handicap.

Changing your email address

Your email address is used as your user Id. You can still post a score and use the system even if you no longer have this email address. However if you forget your password (see next section) there will be no place to email your password to, so it is a good idea to change your email address. To do this logon with your old email and select the [edit] option in the handicap menu.

Forgotton Password

Click on forgotten Password, supply your email address, and the password will be emailed to you. Note that only your original email will be in the system.

Removing yourself from the system

In-active accounts - those that have not posted a handicap in a two year period - will be automatically removed from the system. To otherwise remove your name contact SoHG directly.
