SoHG offers this handicap service to all Hickory players, whether or not they are a member of the Society. All you need is a valid email address (see our privacy policy) for verification. This email address will also serve as your user ID.
Since the beginning of hickory competitions creating a useable handicap for hickory play has been a debated issue. Attempts by tournament Directors to use modern day handicaps with a predetermined adjustment wasn’t always consistent throughout the competitive field of players. The only true version of a hickory handicap is a compilation of hickory scores and applying an algorithm consistent with our state and national methods.
This site offers such a service. It is very easy to record scores along with the course information, rating and slope, etc. Just follow the prompts and fill in the blanks. It only takes a few scores to establish your handicap and you can monitor your progress as you go.
