SoHG Handicaps
SoHG offers this handicap service to all Hickory players, whether or not they are a member of the Society. All you need is a valid email address (see our privacy policy) for verification. This email address will also serve as your user id. The handicaps are calculated using the same algorithm as the USGA.
Please note that the USGA takes the position that all scores with conforming clubs by a single player should be posted for the USGA handicap. (Note that many hickory shafted clubs are NOT conforming clubs e.g. those clubs with punch dot faces, and many other clubs have illegal groove patterns.) However even though your set may be conforming, hickory scores tend to be somewhat higher than 'regular' scores so this site is provided to allow players to keep a separate track of their 'hickory' scores.
Note also that the USGA limits the maximum score for a single hole depending on the players existing handicap. The SoHG takes no position on this, and most players post an actual score as opposed to an adjusted score.
