Tournament Information
Welcome to the inaugural Gutty Golf Spectacular, hosted by the Pacific Coast Hickory Golfers. It’s the first all gutty event west of the Mississippi. This gutty event will be contested at the Links at Summerly on the great-for-gutty golf links-style golf course in Lake Elsinore, Calif. This is a great venue for gutty golf. The course will be set up at just under 5,200 yards, will play to a bogey 78, and sand tees will be used. Natural mounding, rolling terrain, three miles of Scottish style burns, sandy waste areas and more can be expected on this challenging yet fun and very fair golf links.
The format for this event will include match and stroke play along with partners/best ball. This event will take you back in time, playing golf like it was about 120 years ago. There will be a tourney dinner on Saturday night after round one, and lunch after round two (both at golfer cost).
Should you wish to give gutty golf a try, two-day club rentals will be available for $25 a set.
The McIntyre Park ball will be the official tournament ball and will be available for purchase at the event.
As this is to be a true-to-life representation of the era of gutta percha golf, equipment must adhere as closely as possible to the clubs of the day.
