| 2007-05-08 | Scott Patrick | Nairn | 11th , 143 yard par 3 . | Mashie | BGCS Scottish region meeting at Nairn . A fine shot , lofted over a deep faced bunker guarding the front of the green , took one bounce before rolling up and resting against the pin , then fell in . John Still told me this as I couldn't see it because of the bunker . I've seen the ball lip out 5 times in my golfing career , then when the bloody thing finally drops I didn't see it ! |

| 2006-11-17 | Gary Briggs | Southern Pines GC, Southern Pines NC - Donald Ross design | 173 yards third Hole | Mashie | Playing in the Carolina Hickory Golf association's monthly event Gary Briggs aced the third hole of the Donald Ross designed Southern Pines GC.
Playing 173 yards from the white tees with a hickory shafted mashie fashioned in the 1920s. Gary was in the second group, so the first group got to witness the ace from the 4th tee while our third group saw it from the second green. I'll bet there hasn't been a hickory ace scored at Southern Pines Golf Club in a number of years. It was a thrilling moment for all of us. Good show, Gary!!! |

| 2005-09-03 | Paul Dietz | Sarnia Golf And Curling Club | #7 149 yards | Stewart mashie | It was later in the evening, and shadows darkened the green. When I hit my ball, I told my wife that it was close, but we couldn't see how close, because the pin was tucked behind theleft bunker. To my surprise it was closer than I had thought! |

| 2004-05-26 | John K. Roth | Kinghorn, Scotland | Par 3 playing at 145 yards. Described by Robert Kroeger in THE GOLF COURSES OF OLD TOM MORRIS, as one of the most memorable holes in Scotland" | Kroyden "baby waffle" Spade Mashie" | The hole is one of the original holes designed by Tom Morris in 1897. When the shot left the tee it felt like a good one. I didn't see the ball go in so I circled the green with great trepidation before I approached the hole. Eureka!!!
